Freelance Role: Audience & Marketing Associate

Box of Tricks is looking for a committed, passionate and visionary Audience & Marketing Associate to join the team and work closely with our Artistic Directors and Associate Producer to promote our artistic programme, build audiences and raise the company’s profile.

Box of Tricks makes plays. We champion playwrights and empower them to tell the stories they want to tell. Together, we go on a journey to uncover new plays that reflect the world in which we live today. We create heartfelt theatre that resonates, inspires and entertains.

Alongside the Core Team, the Audience & Marketing Associate will create and deliver a bespoke audience development and marketing strategy for the company and upcoming productions. Main duties include: strategy, audience development, tactical marketing. During the engagement, we will be touring new play Under Three Moons by Daniel Kanaber from 24 September – 2 November.

Criteria: We’re looking for someone with a minimum of two years’ experience of a marketing role within the arts with experience of audience development. You will have an interest in theatre and new plays as well as an understanding of local, regional and national arts ecology. A self-starter and a team player, you will be keen to join a small team with big ambitions.

Terms

Fee                  £4000 (£100 per day)

Hours              Part-time role | 2 days / 16 hours per week

Location          Box of Tricks’ office (Hope Mill, Manchester)

Start date        To be negotiated. Ideally July.

Term               Fixed term until November. Potential to be extended.

Please note: This role will be offered on a self-employed basis and the Audience & Marketing Associate will be responsible for paying their own tax and National Insurance contributions.
